Jackpot Jersey is LIVE!!!
When Lydia first showed me her blue and white sample of the Jackpot I audibly gasped! “That is so gorgeous, fun and fabulous!”, I said. Perhaps not in exactly those words, and perhaps more of a guffaw than a gasp, as is my style, but it was something to that effect. I mean, you’ve seen it, right? It’s sooo goood! Plus, it comes in sizes 1-11 (we aren’t sure exactly what this compares to in the high street but it’s up to a bust circ of 170cm/67”)! It has 5 bust dart options and interchangeable sleeves for different bicep proportions!
My favourite thing about this pattern is the blank canvas that the intarsia ‘V’ provides. You can embroider anything you dream of on there! For example: text, a drawing, some abstract art, your birth chart (no one’s done this yet, but I bet it’d look great) … you can even think outside the box and go beyond the constraints of the V, as some of the test knitters have done. The world’s your oyster! (OMG I’m going to embroider an oyster on mine!)The intarsia is p-e-r-f-e-c-t for anyone who hasn’t done intarsia before btw, as it’s much simpler than it looks. Coupled with the duplicate embroidery, which you can add after you’ve knitted the whole garment, it creates something that looks truly special.

So much care has been put into the fit of this top, making sure it’s comfy, it’s stylish, it’s extremely well-fitted, and easy to move around in. So, you can trust in that and let your imagination run wild with colour and design. The range of different styles and vibes already is so impressive - there are classy, minimalist versions, bright contrast-y versions, and some that are truly feeling the cheerleading fantasy! You could even knit this plain, without the intarsia, for the deliciously versatile negative-ease long-sleeved top you’ve been dreaming of I’d love to see some colour-blocked versions too! It’s been so wonderful to witness how the test knitters’ Jackpots have unfurled over time and how they’ve each made it their own. What will you do? We can’t wait to see!

The pattern is also great if you want to push your knitting skills a bit. The main needle size is 2.75mm, which might feel intimidating if you’ve only used 4mm or 5mm before, but YOU’VE GOT THIS. You’ll knit up such a beautiful fabric and I’m certain you won’t look back. Plus… think of all the beautiful yarns out there! Lydia knitted her samples using Indie Yarn Club’s Happy Sock Merino (gorgeous), and I may give it a go with Ginger Twist’s Splendor 4ply Merino and Silk blend for a shiny, ahem, twist. It’s going to be a fantastic pattern to knit over the winter holiday. We are so excited to launch this pattern into the world today. <3
